Track record
SecureData Emerging Markets
Martin built the business from R6m in annual turnover, establishing in-country operations across key African markets and the commercial model required to operate at scale. That growth led directly to its acquisition by Tarsus Group in 2012.
Tarsus Emerging Markets
As CEO, Martin held full regional P&L responsibility across multi-country operations outside South Africa, scaling the business to more than R700m in annual turnover by 2017.
Cyber Security Africa Distribution
Founded in 2017 and incorporated in Mauritius, the specialist cybersecurity distributor developed a partner ecosystem of more than 400 and reached around R300m in annual turnover by 2022, when CYBER1 completed its two-stage acquisition. It was rebranded Trinexia Africa in 2023.
Trinexia Africa
Following the CYBER1 acquisition, Martin led the Africa business through transition, maintained vendor and partner relationships, sustained revenue performance and handed over to an internally developed successor with the business in a stronger operational position than at acquisition.
Cybersecurity distribution
The businesses held appointments across a portfolio including McAfee (now Trellix), CyberArk, Rapid7, Cybereason, KnowBe4, Mimecast, BitDefender, Anomali, Group-IB, Silverfort, Lookout and A10 Networks. In 2018 Cyber Security Africa Distribution won the sole McAfee appointment for Africa excluding South Africa and Egypt as a start-up competing against established distributors.
